So sorry it’s been a while.

So the events of the past week…

I had my 6 week checkup Tuesday and all went well. Here’s the conversation my doctor and I had…

Me: I have a form for you to fill out so I can go back to work but I forgot it.
Doc: That’s ok, just bring it by.
Me: Ok. I get 8 weeks for a c-section right?
Doc: No, actually it’s only 6 if you can believe that.

So of course 6 weeks was Tuesday. I have 5 days of vacation but it’s all I have and I don’t really want to use it unless I have to. So I came back to work on Thursday, I’m taking Monday and Tuesday off and I’ll get Wednesday as a holiday, then working again Thursday and Friday.

The waterworks have been off and on, but I’m getting better. I have a live webcam setup so I can watch Dash when I want to, which is kind of bittersweet. When he cries I just want to scoop him up and it breaks my heart that I can’t. I’m trying to figure out a way to work from home, I don’t know if that’s going to work or not. My boss is adamantly opposed to it, but I don’t think he really wants to lose me either, and it’s about to that point. I have my resume on Monster.com with Work at Home on it, and have gotten a few hits from headhunters, so maybe something will come up.

Another reason I need a different job…

Here’s the note I sent my boss saying I was coming back 2 weeks early…

Looks like I’ll be coming back to work tomorrow. I thought I got 8 weeks off for a c-section but it’s still only 6. I’d like to take Monday and Tuesday off for vacation, so I’ll only work Thursday and Friday of this week and next week so maybe I can ease back into it. I’ll try not to be an emotional basketcase tomorrow, too, I’m having a hard time leaving this little guy.

I updated Dash’s site today; take a look…

OK, so a lot’s been going on and I haven’t posted it, mostly because I was too lazy to upload the pictures.

So first, I think I mentioned we got a pool…

and it rocks. I got in it for the first time today while Mom watched Dash. We also went and saw Shrek 3. Cute movie.

Anyway, Dash went swimming for the first time last night. I think he liked it except he was a little chilly. He lasted 5 minutes or so and then it was off to a warm bath. Cutie pie.

Here he is in his little swimming diapers getting ready for a dip…

He’s been losing his hair on top… looks like he has a receeding hairline, bless his heart. Still cute though.

And here he is in his little swimming boat. This is as “in the water” as he got…

And then we had another photosession. He was hungry, so he was knawing on a pacifier, and every time I pulled it out of his mouth I got about 2 shots off before he threw a fit. Still got a few cute ones though.

We’re going to try again tomorrow when he’s more cooperative. All of these pictures are on his website, the swimming ones (and some other new ones) are on “Week 5″ and the photo session ones are going up right now…

Hope you all had as fun of a weekend as we did…

He’s such a good sport… He actually really liked wearing him like this. I’ve posted a bunch of pictures under Week 3 and Week 5 (apparently I’m a slacker on week 4, I’m working on it), if you want to check the website. I’ll post more later today, we had a great weekend…

So this is me when I was I don’t know how old. How much do I look like Dash? I wish I had a similar picture to compare him to. I still think he looks like me in the chin and mouth maybe his nose. I don’t know…

So, I fed Dashy at 3, and he fell asleep midway through. After burping him, I laid him down in his boppy, and this is what he looks like now (at 4 o’clock)…

How long has it been since you slept like that?

We got our hospital bill today, are you ready? Grand total, $14,000. Amount we owe Decatur General - $45.00. We upgraded to the deluxe room for 15 bucks extra a night, so there you go. Thank God for insurance.

Also, my bumGenius diapers came today, I have them washed but I haven’t tried them yet. They’re cute…

My Mom is bringing my baby book over tonite, so I’m going to scan in a few pictures of me as a baby so we can put this “who does he look like” thing to rest. I’m not even sure, so we’ll see.

An ultrasound comparison… Just wanted to show how on the mark the 3D ultrasounds are. And our picture isn’t even that good, some of them are super sharp…

Dash’s eyes are steely blue, so dark they’re almost hazel. I imagine they’ll end up brown like mine but it would be awesome if they’d stay blue like John’s… (although John has bright blue eyes…)

We went and met everyone at work today, they all loved him. Of course he was sleeping so he was adorable. And he had this outfit on from my cousin Donna…

He was definitely studly. It was good to see everyone, if I could just take the people and leave the job it wouldn’t be bad to go back to work.
