Are here

THIS is what John got on his first quiz. :) Big fat 19 out of 20. And it was in MATH! Super, super proud :)

If you are interested in my Curve adventure, please see here

That’s a link to my fat girl blog. :) Seriously, it went really well; I really liked it. This fat is coming off me, dammit.

OK, if you haven’t seen the commercials for Superbad, that’s probably lost on you. It’s just the expression I think of when I see this picture.

Dash’s 14 week pictures are here.

And that movie was ok, for those of you who care… very American Pie meets Jay and Silent Bob. VERY vulgar. But funny. And pretty good acting. At least me and John and the 100 15 year old boys who were in the theater thought so. :)

I’m joining Curves today, we have one right by our house and I think I can go Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday while either John or Mom is home with the baby. I just can’t shake what’s left of this baby weight (a lot) and I know it’s because it’s too freaking hot to excercise (or that’s my excuse of the day.) Susie, I’ll give you 20 degrees and then it’ll be 84 there and 83 here, ok? Sounds like a good deal to me. So hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up for a while, I’m terrible about joining a gym for 2 1/2 months and then quitting. We’ll see.

And a little catchup…

First, John’s birthday. It really was a good one even though he spent it working on the truck. We went to eat at Romeo’s in Decatur, which was lovely, and had lots and lots of cake. ;)

Also, I’ve been working on a few crocheting projects, the bug bit me again… Plus I needed something to work on while I’m pumping in the server room now that I’m done reading Harry Potter 7. These little booties were real easy…

And how cute are they? Since Dash’s Daddy and Granddaddy are both Army Vets, I figured it was only appropriate.

Dash’s week 13 pictures are up here.

And let’s try this. I know some mac users have a hard time seeing the videos, so I may have found a solution. If this doesn’t work, let me know. You have to have your volume on to appreciate this one, Dash and I were chatting it up last night. Give it about 10 seconds to load, it’s just black-screened until then… and please excuse my babytalk…

ETA: Sorry about the video brightness (or darkness in this case) there wasn’t good lighting where we were and it was one of those things that if I would have stopped to turn on lights I would have missed it :)

I’ll be back to blog about an important day in the little man’s life in a bit (can it really be 3 months already?) but for now I just wanted to point out a few new features… On the right over there, I’ve udpated by blog list… I visit way to many blogs not to share. Check them out if you’re a blog enthusiast like me. Also, I added a sitemeter thingamabob… I’m not entirely sure how it works, I know the total hits in a day counts reloads, too, so I think that number’s a bit off… but the 32 unique IP addresses? Could that be right? Surely not. :) Anyway, it’s a nifty little feature. It’ll also list where the most hits are coming from but I didn’t want to call anyone out :) Be back in a bit…

Dash’s week 12 pics are up and these are definitely some of my favorites. They kind of catch his little budding personality. He has these coy little glances he gives you when he’s playing, and sweet smiles, and his little sleepy poses… they’re just sweet. Here’s a preview…

(Forgive the watermark, it’s my babycenter screenname and I didn’t feel like changing the watermark :) )

See? How can you resist that smile?

Dash can halfway sit up now, he tries to sit up really straight and you just have to help him keep his balance a little bit. I think he was in the process of falling over when I took this, you can see his concentration. He’s so funny though, he gets mad if you lay him down, tightens his abs and lifts his head and chest up and grunts. It’s adorable. I’ll try to get it on video. Anyway, more previews…

A friend of ours gave us this shirt and it just matches his cloth diaper perfectly, so I like it more than I usually would. It says “Daddy Drinks because I cry” which isn’t true. Daddy drinks because he wants to… :)

Just hanging out, I think. He’s sitting up against our couch pillows and I think he’s pretty comfortable.

Happy Friday everyone…

Happy Birthday to my John! John turned 38 today, and he’s spending it working on my truck. I promise, I’m going to pay him back. A bottle of Maker’s Mark and a Black Forest Cake should do the trick.

Here’s the story, pictures at the bottom to keep this from being a pictureless blog…

The truck has been running hot for a few weeks now, just kind of every once in a while. It’s a 2003 Durango for those of you in blogland that I don’t know in person… And it had the radiator replaced in 2005 after I hit a piece of drywall on the interstate that had flown up into the air causing 4000 bucks worth of damage. But that’s another story. Anyway, so John decided to flush it out and refill it with antifreeze on Sunday. It overheated anyway on Monday, stranding me on the side of the road for several minutes while Dad drove over to refill the tank. Turned out the cap wasn’t on well and all the antifreeze boiled out. OK, here’s a picture to keep you reading.

Anyway, so Dad thinks it’s still going to need some more antifreeze so John comes over after taking his placement test for school (ick, I know) and tries to fill it up. It won’t take anymore so we drive it around town to heat it up, and John mistakenly turns off the truck before he takes the radiator cap off. For those of you who don’t know what is about to happen, it wasn’t pretty. All the antifreeze had pressurized behind the cap and literally exploded out of the truck when he opened the cap. Think 10 feet high geyser of flaming hot liquid. We’re both ok, John got a little burned but nothing too bad. We were both covered in antifreeze though. So he’s taking it to a place to have it flushed out today and then hopefully that’ll do it… if not he’s going to replace for like 280 bucks. That’s without labor, so John will be doing it himself. Fun Birthday, I know.

On to more pics. Here’s when I gave John his present…

This was my hint for what it was. I didn’t want to just give him the laptop box or he’d know immediately what it was so I tricked him into thinking I’d gotten him some man-jewelry.

See? He looks real enthused…

And here’s the real thing, finally…

It’s gorgeous in real life, HP, 17″ monitor, it’s a beast. He really liked it.

And Dash’s Week 11 pics are up here

John actually took a lot of these, he’s doing good with the camera, too. :)

Happy Tuesday all…

Oh, do we have time for 10 on Tuesday? I’ll make it short.

1. I bought real jeans today, not my maternity ones. It’s the first time I’ve worn pants with a zipper in 8 months or so and it feels lovely.

2. Someone said “oh it came out in the nineties” and I thought, man that makes it sound like it was forever ago, and then realized 1992 was 15 years ago.

3. The radiator guy will charge you 45.00 less if you take the radiator out yourself to get it flushed. I need a job just taking out radiators.

4. Speaking of job, my new boss still hasn’t gotten back to me on whether or not I can work from home Monday and Wednesday, so I’ve written him off right along with my current boss.

5. John registered for classes yesterday, he’s taking microcomputers, world history 1 and English 101 (he’s waiting for a math class to open up). I’m so glad it’s him and not me.

OK, I think 5 will do. Otherwise this will be a ridiculously long post. :)

Lauren, this one’s for you…

He finally discovered this thing last night, he was drooling up a storm and trying to cram whatever he could get his hands on into his mouth so I busted out with this thing and he went to town. Thanks for giving it to us! What’s your site again? I’ll give you a shameless plug if you’re still doing it…

And then…

there’s this.

:)

I’m so very much looking forward to tomorrow, a whole day with just Dash and I. I feel like we need to catch up with all I missed this week while I was at work. We need to practice rolling over some more, and sitting up. He’s doing really good sitting up, he grabs onto my fingers and pulls them this way and that to keep his balance. It’s really cute. ;) Maybe in a few weeks we’ll have it down…
